Naoki Ishikawa, an alpinist / photographer who has climbed Mt. Evelest twice in the last ten years will hold an exhibition “MAKALU” at IMA CONCEPT STORE from August 20th. It was 23 years old when he succeeded in climbing Mt. Evelest for the first time, and he has achieved climbing the mountain once again in 2011. In recent years, he has published photobooks as in the series of “Himalaya” which he captured the journey to challenge the mountains higher than 8,000 meters such as Chomolungma, Lotze and the most spirited mountain Manaslu. As the Grand Finale of the series, he climbed Makalu, the 5th highest mountain in the world (Elevation: 8,463 meters), with medium size film camera and captured both gentle and cruel sides of Mother Nature.
